KNOWING BEYOND KNOWING

NAVIGATING LIFE WITH LOGIC & INTUITION

By Carmen Greger

Our Sixth Sense, the Dance of Decision-Making, & Our Place in the Cosmos

Sometimes there’s a knowing beyond knowing. Perhaps something looks great on paper, but our gut just doesn’t buy it. Other times things don’t make sense logically and our instincts just know it’s the right move.

We often find ourselves standing at the crossroads of decisions, oscillating between our heart’s whispers and the logic our brain dutifully shouts. Should we trust that gut feeling or analyze the situation rationally? This intricate dance between intuition and logic, though age-old, remains a rich topic for reflection and understanding.

“There is a voice that doesn’t use words. Listen.” – Rumi.

Logic Defined: Logic is a systematic way of thinking that allows us to deduce and infer based on rules and facts. It’s our brain’s way of calculating outcomes, considering pros and cons, and making decisions that are grounded in reason.

Intuition Defined: Intuition, on the other hand, is the ability to understand or know something without conscious reasoning. It’s that immediate and unanalyzed feeling we get, a knowing beyond knowing.

How many times have you felt an inexplicable hunch? Or been drawn to or repelled by someone without a clear reason?

The Sixth Sense – Tapping into the Unknown

Scientifically, we use a mere fraction, often said to be about 10%, of our brain’s potential. If this is true, imagine what remains untouched, uncharted. Our intuition might very well be an echo from these deep, silent chambers of our mind, and our mind may be much more vast, interconnected with infinite, energy unseen to the naked eye, and way more capable than we can currently possibly imagine.

“Every cell in your body has its own memory and intelligence.” – Deepak Chopra

Research has consistently shown our body’s incredible interconnectedness, be it the profound connection between our gut biome and brain or how emotional wounds manifest physically. At our core, we’re a vibrant dance of energy, constantly resonating and responding to the world around us.

EXPLORING THE MATRIX OF, AND SPACE BETWEEN, INSTINCT & INTELLECT

A Meeting of Two Minds More often than not, the ideal solution stems from a harmony of both logic and intuition. Like two sides of a coin, they offer a more holistic view when allowed to coexist.

But how does one discern whether to lean on logic or trust intuition?

Reflect: Next time you’re in a quandary, ask yourself – Is my reaction based on past experiences or fear? Or is it a genuine intuition?

Analyze: What are the logical outcomes of the situation? What are the pros and cons?

Feel: Close your eyes. Take deep breaths. How does each decision make you feel at your core?

Remember, it’s not about choosing one over the other, but allowing them to coexist and guide you harmoniously.

A Cosmic Dance

Just as we are interconnected internally, we are entwined with the universe. Quantum physics has unveiled the mesmerizing web of energy and matter, suggesting that at the most fundamental level, everything and everyone is interconnected. This hints at the possibility that our intuition could be a reverberation of this cosmic dance.

Albert Einstein, a paragon of logic, said, “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.”

Think about it: Have you ever sensed the mood of a room as soon as you walked in? Ever noticed how animals, like dogs, have an uncanny sense of their owners’ return? These might not be mere coincidences but a testament to our deeper connection with the world.

In Awe of the Unknown

It’s essential, as we journey through life, to maintain a sense of wonder. We’re at the brink of a deeper understanding – of ourselves, our sixth sense, our environment, and the vast cosmos. We might be small, but within us resides the universe.

The dance between logic and intuition is a journey of self-discovery. Both are vital, both have their place. As you navigate life, remember: You know more than you think you do. Trust yourself, trust the universe, and trust the dance.

The Subtle Nuances of Intuition

While logic is more straightforward and follows a set of rules, intuition can be elusive. It’s a subtle nudge, a whisper amidst a cacophony of thoughts. But the more we recognize and listen to it, the more apparent it becomes. The challenge lies not in its presence but in our ability to differentiate it from our ego or insecurities.

Trust Your Vibes: A Deep Dive

Sonia Choquette’s “Trust Your Vibes (Revised Edition)” delves deep into this realm of intuitive power. Choquette, a celebrated spiritual teacher, believes that everyone can tap into their intuitive abilities. In her book, she deciphers the language of intuition.

Key Takeaways from “Trust Your Vibes”:

  • Embrace Your Authentic Self: Choquette emphasizes the importance of being genuine. Authenticity strengthens our intuitive muscle. It’s when we are true to ourselves that we can better align with our inner wisdom.
  • Stay Grounded: It’s crucial to ground oneself to receive clear intuitive signals. This can be achieved through meditation, nature walks, or even simple breathing exercises. The idea is to create a strong connection between oneself and the universe.
  • Practice: Like any other skill, intuition can be honed. Choquette offers various exercises and practices that can help in recognizing and trusting our vibes.
  • Create Sacred Space: Our surroundings play a pivotal role in shaping our energies. By creating a sacred space, one that resonates with positive vibes, we can better attune to our intuitive self.
  • Ask and Let Go: Instead of obsessing over answers, Choquette advises to pose questions to the universe and then let go. This act of surrender paves the way for intuitive insights to flow in.

Her book, in essence, is an empowering guide that encourages readers to believe in their intuitive prowess and offers tools to navigate life with greater ease and clarity.

Harnessing the Symbiotic Power of Intuition & Logic

So, if intuition is this guiding force, why do we need logic? The answer lies in their symbiotic relationship. Intuition can point you in a direction, but logic helps in understanding the terrain. Together, they ensure not just that you’re on the right path but also that you’re equipped to handle the journey.

For instance, an entrepreneur might have an intuitive hunch about a market trend. But it’s through logical analysis, research, and planning that this hunch can be translated into a successful venture.

In Nature’s Lap: The Animal Instinct

We’ve all marveled at the impeccable sense of direction some birds have or the extraordinary ability of dogs to sense impending disasters. Animals don’t reason out or analyze situations; they inherently trust their instincts.

As humans, we’re part of the same natural world, and we share these instincts. Over time, however, our growing reliance on logic has overshadowed our intuitive side. But that doesn’t mean it’s lost. It merely requires awakening.

While the logical mind structures our thoughts, intuition colors them with calling, painting broad strokes of deep meaning and purpose, offering a richer, more vibrant canvas.
